Great video Andy, I found it really useful. Have you used IEMT much with Addiction? If you have, are there any tips you can give, things I should look out for?

Thank you Andy I found this Video really helpful. I have been asking clients to hold on to this feeling so I’m so grateful to have had this information to change that dialogue in my practice.

Paul, IEMT can be a useful part of working with addictions, using IEMT with undesirable emotional responses that arise during a client session, trauma and identity, there tends to be multiple factors at play with addiction some of these can benefit from the uses of IEMT and others may require other approaches, services or the learning of skills. Also, with addictions there can be a range of safeguarding issues that also want to be considered.

Very useful update and refresher video – thank you Andy. Although I’m already getting good feedback on the client change from the IEMT sessions I do, I think this update will help me develop some of my practise further – so very worthwhile watching. I’ve got a client coming in 2 hours time, so will be utilising straight away. It would be interesting to have a similar video update on the identity patterns, as clearly your thinking/data or explanations do evolve and it’s valuable to tap into this. Martin

One of my 10-year-old students (teaching him how to improve his spelling, reading, and writing) didn’t really want to do his school spelling tasks during the first lockdown).

When I asked him about it, he didn’t know why he was refusing.
I asked if he had ever had a problem with his teacher about his results in a spelling test at school (this is a familiar problem with the kids I tutor).
He said ‘No’. So then I asked if he’d ever noticed anyone else having a problem with a teacher about his spelling test. He said ‘YES’.
When was the first time…..etc? He said, “I can’t remember.”
Me: “Can you recall who it was?” “No”.
Me “But you can remember something happening to someone else and it felt bad for you?” “YES”.
Me: OK and how strong is that feeling?
8/10.
This was onscreen and I’d demonstrated to his mum how to do the hand movements standing behind the laptop.
After 2 sweeps L-R-L. I saw some deviations in his eyes and a smile and said STOP to mum, then asked him what happened.
He said, “I remember, it was my best friend and we were 6, and Miss ‘T’ was yelling at him for only getting one spelling right.”

We discussed how he felt then and about how he felt about it now and discussed empathy and how it was OK to let that feeling go now because his empathy had done its job back then and was no longer needed for his 6-year-old friend because the friend had grown up too – just like him.

We did the eye movements on what was left of the memory and it removed his bad feelings about learning his spellings and it resulted in him no longer struggling with doing his spelling homework or struggling with any homework.

He just got on and did his homework and returned to school after the summer holidays feeling much more confident in his ability. Thanks IEMT and Andy – it makes my teaching job so much easier! And if you’d like to know more I’m also an IEMT Trainer who helps parents and teachers!

Watched this again this morning and got even more from it. So useful to come back and see theses resources multiple times. (4 years since I last looked at this particular one – should have revisited earlier!). Thanks Andy for maintaining such a good resource base.
